Legal Information
This page is the legal information and legal notice page for prestivoq. It explains who operates this website, how the business behind it is registered in the United Kingdom, what you may and may not do with the material published here, and how the different policies that apply to the site fit together. It is written for studio professionals, broadcasters, production companies, freelancers and suppliers who use prestivoq as a working resource for studio production in motion, covering studio equipment setup, dynamic camera operation, lighting and sound, and the design of smooth, high-quality workflows for television news and live shows.
Please read this page together with the other policies named below. By browsing the website, sending an enquiry, or using any service offered through it, you confirm that you have read and understood this legal information page.
Last updated: 18 October 2026. This version replaces all earlier versions of this page.
1. Who we are: identity of the website operator
The website is owned and operated by prestivoq, which is the publisher of the site, the controller of the personal data processed through it, and the party with whom any contract formed through the site is made. In this page, "we", "us", "our" and "the operator" all mean prestivoq.
Our role depends on how you use the site. As a publisher, we provide editorial and technical material about studio production. As a service provider, we may supply studio space, equipment configuration, lighting and sound support, camera operating crews, and workflow design for broadcast and live output. As an introducer, we may point you towards specialist suppliers, hire companies or freelancers. We are not your agent, we do not act as a broker for third-party agreements unless we confirm that in writing, and we do not provide legal, insurance, financial or health-and-safety certification services.
Where a service is delivered by a third party, that third party is responsible for its own performance, its own equipment and its own legal disclosures. We will always make it clear when a service is supplied by someone else before you commit to anything.
2. Legal form, registration details and tax identifiers
We operate as a commercial business established in the United Kingdom. The information below identifies the legal entity behind this website and is published in line with the disclosure duties that apply to companies registered in England and Wales under the Companies Act 2006, and with the information duties that apply to providers of information society and e-commerce services under the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002.

2.1 What these identifiers mean in practice
The company registration number is the unique number allocated to the company by the registrar when it was incorporated. It stays with the company for its whole life, whatever trading name the business uses, and it is the number you should quote if you need to verify our existence, ownership or filing history. The place of registration tells you which legal system governs the company's constitution: England and Wales.
The VAT registration number confirms that the business is registered for Value Added Tax in the United Kingdom. Where VAT applies to a supply, it will be shown separately on our invoices and quotes. If you are a VAT-registered business yourself, you may need this number to reclaim input tax, so it is repeated in the footer of every page of this website.
2.2 Licences, permissions and professional standards
Much of the equipment, rigging, electrical and sound work described on this site can only lawfully be carried out by competent persons using inspected equipment. Where a job requires a specific licence, permit, insurance cover, risk assessment, method statement or location permission, that requirement is dealt with as part of the individual booking and is not replaced by anything published on this website. Nothing on this site should be read as a claim that any particular activity is licensed, insured or approved unless we state that expressly in writing for your job.
Editorial and technical content on this site is prepared by our own team. We do not accept payment in exchange for publishing a favourable review of equipment, a supplier or a service, and any material that is contributed, sponsored or supplied by a third party is identified as such.
3. Responsible representatives and editorial responsibility
Overall responsibility for this website, including its legal compliance, rests with the directors of the operator. Day-to-day responsibility for the accuracy of technical content, for responding to legal correspondence, and for the management of personal data is delegated to named members of our management team, who act as our authorised representatives for those purposes.
Correspondence about the content of this website, about intellectual property, or about the way the site is operated should be sent to us using the contact route in section 4. Requests relating to personal data are handled separately, as explained in our Privacy Policy, and must be sent to the same contact route so that they can be logged and answered within the statutory time limits.
4. Registered office and how to contact us
Our registered office is the address at which formal notices and service of documents may be delivered. It is also the address we publish for correspondence, and it is shown for that purpose on the website and in the footer of every page.
- Registered office address: Fawley House, 2 Regatta Place, Marlow Road, Bourne End, Buckinghamshire SL8 5TD, United Kingdom
- General enquiries email: [email protected]
- Telephone: +44 300 111 4123
Email is the quickest way to reach us for general questions about the site and initial project enquiries. Telephone lines are answered during normal UK business hours. If you need to serve a formal legal document, please use the registered office address and send a copy by email so that we can acknowledge receipt promptly. Our Contacts page also offers a contact form; messages sent through that form reach us at [email protected].
5. Purpose, scope and intended audience of the website
prestivoq is a professional resource about studio production in motion. The site is aimed at people who plan, crew and run productions: studio managers, camera operators, lighting and sound technicians, vision mixers, producers, editors, technical directors, freelancers, students on production courses, and the suppliers who serve them.
The purpose of the site is to explain and demonstrate practical ways of working. Typical subjects include:
- studio equipment setup, rigging and safe configuration of camera, lighting and sound systems;
- dynamic camera operation, including movement, framing, focus and multi-camera coordination;
- lighting design and control, including colour temperature, exposure and continuity;
- sound capture and monitoring, including microphones, mixing, acoustics and the behaviour of sound waves in studio spaces;
- workflow design for television news and live shows, including signal paths, talkback, record and playout, and contingency planning.
The site is not a substitute for professional judgement on a live production, for manufacturer instructions, or for the applicable health-and-safety rules at a venue. If you rely on anything published here, you do so as a skilled professional who remains responsible for your own decisions and for the safety of your own team.
6. Access to the website and acceptable use
We aim to keep the website available at all times, but access is provided on a temporary basis and we may suspend, withdraw, restrict or change all or part of the site without notice, including for maintenance, security or legal reasons. You are responsible for the equipment, software, network connection and data charges you need in order to reach the site.
When you use this website you agree not to:
- use the site in any way that breaches applicable law, including the Computer Misuse Act 1990;
- introduce viruses, malware, ransomware, spyware or any other harmful material;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, the server on which it is stored, or any connected database or system;
- scrape, crawl, harvest or systematically extract content, contact details or user data without our written permission;
- use automated tools in a way that places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure or interferes with other visitors;
- copy, reproduce, republish or resell our content, in whole or in part, other than as permitted in section 7;
- remove or obscure any copyright, trade mark or attribution notice;
- submit material that is false, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, obscene or that infringes the rights of anyone else.
If you breach these rules we may take proportionate action, which can include blocking your access, reporting conduct to the relevant authorities, and recovering our reasonable costs where the breach causes loss. We keep records of security events for as long as is necessary to protect the site and comply with our legal obligations.
7. Our content, intellectual property, trade marks and permitted use
All material on this website, including text, diagrams, photography, video, sound recordings, page layouts, source code, data compilations and the selection and arrangement of the content, is owned by us or is used with the permission of its owner. That material is protected by copyright, database rights, design rights and, where relevant, trade mark law in the United Kingdom and internationally.
The names prestivoq, together with our logos, page designs, wording and other distinctive signs, are trade marks or business identifiers of the operator or its licensors. Nothing on this site gives you a licence to use any of our trade marks, and you may not use them in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or affiliation without our prior written consent.
You may do the following without asking us first:
- view, browse and print pages for your own personal or internal professional reference;
- quote short extracts in teaching material, crew briefings or internal documents, provided the source is clearly attributed to prestivoq and the wording is not altered;
- link to our pages from your own website or professional network, provided it is clear that the source is this site.
You may not republish substantial parts of the site, use our content to train or populate another commercial service, sell access to our material, or present our content as your own. Any use that is not listed above requires our written permission. If you believe that material on this site infringes your own rights, please write to [email protected] with enough detail for us to identify the material and the right you say has been infringed; we will review the notice and act proportionately, which may include removing or amending the material while we investigate.
8. Accuracy of information and availability
We take care to describe equipment, techniques and workflows accurately and to update pages when practice or hardware changes. Technical guidance is written for trained professionals, and equipment behaviour, software versions, venue conditions and regulatory requirements vary. As a result, content is provided for general information and illustration only. It is not a specification, a safety assessment, a broadcast compliance statement or a guarantee of any particular technical outcome.
We may change, add to or remove content at any time. Where prices, lead times, availability of kit, dates or crew are mentioned, those details do, or may, change, and a binding figure only ever arises from a written quotation or order confirmation issued by us. You should confirm the current position with us before you make a decision that depends on a detail published here.
9. Limits of our liability
Nothing in this legal information page excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Subject to the paragraph above, and to the extent permitted by law:
- we do not exclude liability for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breach of this page or of our negligence, but we are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable;
- we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill or business opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss arising out of the use of this website;
- we are not liable for damage caused by viruses or other harmful material that you introduce through your own equipment, network or software;
- we are not liable for the acts, omissions, equipment or advice of third-party suppliers, venues or contractors, except where we have expressly accepted that responsibility in a written contract with you;
- where the site is unavailable or a page is inaccurate, our liability is limited to correcting the content or, if you are a consumer, to the remedies set out in our Terms and Conditions.
If you are a consumer, these limits do not affect your statutory rights, and the goods and services you buy from us must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If you are a business user, you accept that the site is provided for professional use and that the limits in this section are reasonable in that context.
10. External links and third-party content
Our pages may refer to other websites, manufacturers, standards bodies, hire companies, trade associations or broadcasters, and third parties may link to us. References and links are provided for convenience and context only. They are not an endorsement of the third party, its products or its views, and we do not control the content, availability, security or privacy practices of any external site.
You should read the legal notices and privacy policies of any external site you visit. We accept no responsibility for loss or damage arising from your use of a third-party site or service, including where you reach it through a link from our pages. If you believe a link on our site is incorrect, harmful or misleading, please tell us at [email protected] and we will review it.
11. Personal data, cookies and electronic marketing
We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and, for cookies and electronic marketing, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). Where you give us personal data, we act as the data controller for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy, and we rely on the lawful bases set out there, including your consent, the performance of a contract, our legal obligations and our legitimate interests in running and improving a professional production resource.
We collect only the information we need. Typical examples include the details you enter in our contact form, your email address when you write to [email protected], and the technical information your browser sends when you load a page. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for unrelated third-party marketing, and we keep it only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, for our record-keeping duties, or for the period required by tax and accounting law.
The site uses a cookie banner so that you can accept or refuse non-essential cookies before they are set. Strictly necessary cookies are used to make the site work and to remember your cookie choice. Any analytics or similar cookies are only used with your consent, and you can change your mind at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.
You have the right to be informed, to request access to your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask for erasure in the circumstances set out in the law, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to data portability where it applies. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first at [email protected]; you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection.
12. Other policies that apply to this website
This legal information page does not stand alone. The following documents form part of the terms on which you use the site, and each one is published as a separate page on this website. Where a document is referred to in plain text here, it means the version currently published on the site:
- our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can exercise your rights, including your right of access and your right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office;
- our Cookie Policy, which lists the cookies and similar technologies used on the site, explains their purpose and duration, and describes how you can manage or withdraw your consent through the cookie banner or your browser;
- our Terms and Conditions, which set out the rules for using the site and for ordering studio services, equipment support and production work, including quotations, scheduling, client responsibilities, and the standards we apply to our work;
- our Payment and Refund Policy, which explains accepted payment methods, deposit and invoicing arrangements, cancellation and postponement charges for studio time and crew, and when refunds, credits or re-bookings are available;
- our Accessibility Statement, where published, which records the steps we take to keep the site usable and describes how to report a barrier you encounter.
If there is a conflict between this page and our Terms and Conditions in relation to a booking, the Terms and Conditions take priority for that booking. Nothing in any of these documents affects rights that the law gives you and that cannot be waived by agreement.
13. Consumer rights, applicable law and competent courts
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the use of this website, are governed by the law of England and Wales. Nothing here deprives a consumer of the protection afforded by the mandatory rules of the country in which the consumer lives.
If you are a business, you and we agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, unless we agree otherwise in writing. If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live, and we may also bring proceedings there.
Our goods and services are supplied in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and, where relevant, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Services must be performed with reasonable care and skill; digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If something we supply does not meet those standards, you are entitled to the remedies set out in that Act, including repeat performance or a price reduction.
Where a cooling-off period applies to a distance or off-premises contract, we will tell you in writing before the contract is concluded, together with the effect of asking us to begin work during that period. Studio time booked for a fixed date, and crew engaged for that date, may be affected by cancellation rules, which are explained in our Payment and Refund Policy.
14. Complaints and dispute resolution
We would much rather solve a problem directly than let it grow. If something has gone wrong, please write to [email protected] or telephone +44 300 111 4123 with the booking reference, the date, and a short description of what happened. We aim to acknowledge complaints within five working days and to give a substantive response within twenty working days.
If we cannot resolve a complaint between us, the following routes may be available:
- business customers may refer a dispute to mediation or arbitration by agreement;
- consumers may seek advice from Citizens Advice or from a trading standards service, and may use a certified alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider where one is willing to take the case;
- consumers may also use the courts, as described in section 13;
- complaints about the handling of personal data may be made to the Information Commissioner's Office, and intellectual property complaints may be sent to us using the contact route above.
We are not obliged to use ADR, and we will always tell you clearly if we decline to do so.
15. Changes to this page and how to reach us
We review this page regularly and may update it to reflect changes in our business, our services or the law. The version published on this website is the version that applies. The date at the top of the page shows when the current version took effect, and material changes will be flagged on the site so that returning visitors can see what has changed.
If you have a question about this page, or you want to raise something about the way the website is operated, please contact us at [email protected], by telephone on +44 300 111 4123, or in writing to Fawley House, 2 Regatta Place, Marlow Road, Bourne End, Buckinghamshire SL8 5TD, United Kingdom. Please quote the section of this page you are asking about, as that helps us answer quickly.
